In January of 2006 we took on the challenge of opening up a restaurant. Little did we know that we would still be going strong so many years later. The Old Barn Restaurant has become a part of our lives in every aspect. We love our customers and love meeting new people. Don't get me wrong, it is a challenge. Every single day we learn something new but we would not change our lives for anything. This is a family owned business and our regular customers are like our family. They have watched our family grow over the years and we have made so many friends and we appreciate each and every one of our customers. After all, we wouldn't be successful without you.
We strive to guarantee our food quality and the way we prepare our food isn't the easiest but in our opinion it is the best. We hand batter our foods, cut our on steaks, prepare our own desserts, and grow most of our vegetables. When we are not open we are working in The Old Barn Garden making sure that we have the freshest foods possible. We were raised working hard and we want our children to respect the land as we were taught.
Currently we are changing the seasonal vegetables in The Old Barn Garden to Collards, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Turnips, Tender Greens, Kale, Cabbage, Lettuces, Onions, etc. We are still producing lots of Pepper and Egg Plants and love to cook it up for Sunday lunch. Fresher is better in our opinion regardless of the hard work that is involved. When it is home grown you know exactly what you are eating and when it involves family nothing matters more than quality of food.
In 2015, we received the greatest honor we could have ever dreamed of . We won BEST steak in the whole state of Alabama. There is not a greater honor and that shows that hard work pays off.
